broken blogs, and busy days

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:30 pm

I just finished my first children’s book this weekend and have been so busy the past few months I have not been able to recover my old blog.  The database was so full of spam- I think it is time to just give up on it and start again.  I’ll try to put up some of the head studies and other images on my main site if I can find the time.  The image is not from the book, it’s just one i started a while ago and just had a momnet to finish it up. thanks for stopping by.

  1. If you’re just re-setting-up your blog after being inundated with the horrors of spambots, I would highly recommend the wp-spamfree and askimet plugins for Wordpress. Askiment blocks most(though a few things get through), while wp-spamfree has basically eliminated any of the problems I had with remaining spam. It’s too bad all these extra steps are necessary just to have a simple blog -_-

  3. Woo! You’re back… (Hello from Incog) I keep pinging your site and am always disappointed to see it missing. Good luck keeping the spammers at bay.

  7. Hi Steven,
I read about you in the very nicely illustrated book, Dewey. I was surprised to find that the illustrator went to BYU. My dad used to teach there in the art department from 1965 until 1978. Dale Fletcher. We have a son who was in the animation department up there and graduated in 2007. Jordan Pack. Do you know him? He produced “Kites”, and currently works for Avalanche in SL.
Your illustrations are lovely. Very nice book. It sounds like you are “off and running.”
I majored in art up there also, and have a couple of childrens books that I would like to do someday, but I have been raising 8 kids, and never seem to quite get around to it.
    Keep up the good work.
    Sincerely, Jeanne Pack

  8. Such awesome artwork! I stumbled upon this because I wanted to see if the domain name fridayeve.com was taken. Given that it’s “Friday Eve” today, I thought I’d look it up–and what a pleasant surprise! Would love to see your children’s book!
